'Hellboy II: The Golden Army'
The monster-hunting freaks of the B.P.R.D. return in director Guillermo del Toro's second take on the adventures of Big Red.

When we last left them, Hellboy — a powerful demon raised by humans and trained as a paranormal investigator — and his mates at the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense (including merman Abe Sapien and firestarter Liz Sherman) had just defeated the resurrected Russian sorcerer Rasputin and were settling down for a long winter's nap. That was four years and a different studio (Sony) ago. Now, with the backing of Universal, director Guillermo del Toro returns to unleash Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
Del Toro brings back all of the original cast members for this second romp around comic creator Mike Mignola's universe, known for its healthy balance of superhero action, dark fantasy, and outright comedy. Ron Perlman returns as Big Red himself, Doug Jones once again crawls under the skin of Abe Sapien, Selma Blair re-ups as Liz Sherman, and even Jeffrey Tambor has another go-round as skeptical G-man Tom Manning. This time, the team faces a rogue Prince who is about to disrupt a centuries-long truce between the fantasy world and the human one. His plan, as indicated by the title, involves the awakening of a battalion of mythical gilded warriors.
