REVIEW: "I don't know how you do it." "What's that?" "Bein' a cop every day, and having to deal with an alcoholic brother." Oh, that. Smoke Signals director Chris Eyre's second feature brings the Cain and Abel syndrome to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, with Graham Greene as drunkard Vietnam vet Mogie and Eric Schweig playing his conflicted cop brother. The acting is fine, the story involving if familiar, but Eyre is a bit out of his depth here, as he tries to trace the emotional wounds of his characters but is unable to do so without showing considerable strain.
