When Miami dentist Ted Brooks (Gooding Jr.) travels all the way to Alaska to receive a mystery inheritance, he assumes that somebody’s going to show him the money. What he gets instead is a pack of the world’s fastest sled dogs and the chance to race them in the Iditarod (the famed Alaskan dogsled race). The film is based loosely on a true story, and was cowritten by sled-heads Michael Goldberg and Tommy Swerdlow, who cowrote Cool Runnings.
