Lynch Has a Cow Promoting New Film
David Lynch says he's done with big Hollywood studios. The director plans to release his new film, Inland Empire, on his own, and will embark on a 10-city tour to promote the film with a cow. "I ate a lot of cheese during the film, and it made me happy," Lynch told the Hollywood Reporter. "I'm looking forward to meeting theater owners and getting out among the people with the cow." Letters Coming Sooner than Expected
Warner Bros. has moved the date of Clint Eastwood's Letters From Iwo Jima, the companion film to Flag of Our Fathers, up from Feb. 9. (Read Premiere's review of Flags of Our Fathers.) The film will now open on Dec. 20 in order to qualify for awards consideration. More at Variety.

Ratner, Rock and Murphy Plan to Rip Off Trump
Bret Ratner has signed on to direct an untitled heist drama penned by Inside Man screenwriter Russell Gerwitz. The film will star Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy as two Trump Tower janitors who come up with a plan to steal from the building's luxury tenants. More at Production Weekly.
