Artists unite as Cruise, Redford and Streep come together in Lions for Lambs.

Cruise Coming in Like a Lion
Tom Cruise will star in Lions for Lambs, a political drama that Robert Redford will co-star in and also direct. Meryl Streep has also been tapped for the cast. The film is the first for Cruise at United Artists, which he and partner Paula Wagner are attempting to revive. More at The Hollywood Reporter.
Rest in Peace, VHS
It was a good 30-year run, but the industry is pulling the plug on the VHS format, citing lack of shelf space. More at Variety.
Lost and Found: Faulkner's Nosferatu
Apparently, William Faulkner penned a script for the vampire tale. Found seven years ago by the author's daughter amidst a pile of unexamined papers, an adaptation of the script appears headed for the big screen. More at the Los Angeles Times.
Ferrell and McKay Get Rights to Dork
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Prods. has secured the rights to King Dork by first time novelist and Bay area punk musician Frank Portman. The story centers on a teen loser whose life is thrown out of whack after reading Catcher in the Rye. More at Variety.
