Theron Rides Ferris Wheel
Charlize Theron will star in the drama Ferris Wheel, which centers on a young girl abandoned by her mother, for first-time director Bill Maher. More at Variety.

A Home for Fantastic Mr. Fox
Fox Animation has fittingly picked up Fantastic Mr. Fox, the Roald Dahl classic adapted by Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach. Anderson will direct the film. More at Variety.

Like Father, Like Daughter
Following in her father's footsteps, Allison Eastwood, daughter of Clint, will make her feature directorial debut with the film Rails and Ties, about the relationship between two families after a mother parks her car in front of a moving train with her young son inside. Kevin Bacon and Marcia Gay Harden, who acted together in Clint's Mystic River, are expected to star. More at The Hollywood Reporter.

Houdini Hits the Big Screen
Carrying on the current fascination with old tyme magicians, Walden Media is developing a film about a 14 year-old boy who discovers he's a descendant of Harry Houdini. Mark Waters, currently working on The Spiderwick Chronicles, will direct. More at The Hollywood Reporter.
