Cruise Back in Business
It didn’t take long for Tom Cruise to land on his feet. After an ugly split with Paramount Pictures last week, Hollywood’s reigning Thetan and production partner Paula Wagner appear to have a new financial backer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, known in the NFL for amassing high-priced free agents, has agreed to finance overhead and development costs for Cruise/Wagner Productions through his investment firm, First and Goal LLC.
World Trade Center Makes $2.6 Million For 9/11 Memorial, Charities
In keeping with a promise to donate five percent of the film’s opening weekend gross to the September 11 Memorial Fund, USA Today reports that the producers of World Trade Center gave $1.3 million for the building of the memorial, and another $1.3 million to various Sept. 11-related charities.
