Do your friendships in the movie contrast or mirror your personal friendships?
Blake Lively: Well, a lot of it is just giggling and laughing and then filming it because we can't actually say our lines sometimes. So it's a direct reflection but...

Alexis Bledel: We just have fun working together. I know that in the first movie they kind of got out of our way, and whatever we were lucky to have as chemistry ourselves, they really let it come through. And in this movie there was more of that.

Amber Tamblyn: Alexis, talk about how much you like me. Come on, spit it out.

Alexis Bledel: Just trying to stay in touch as you get older is difficult. That's something we've all probably had to deal with.

Blake Lively: I think these girls are lucky to have, you know, four friends that are so strong. I've always had one or two people close to me. I have two of my best friends, one of them I've known since I was four and the other one since 7th grade, which wasn't that long ago, but I still keep in touch with them.

America Ferrera: I think one of my best friends is one of my sisters, and she's a year older than me, and we grew up, you know, too close sometimes. I think everything I've experienced in terms of how people mean different things to you at different times in your life has really been through my relationship with my sister. There were times when we've gone off to college and wanted nothing but to be as far away from each other as possible, and then other times where you need them by your side, and they're the only person that could help you through certain situations.

I was never lucky enough to have friends that stayed throughout my entire life in terms of outside of my family, but I will say that I what I love about this movie is that it gives young women an example of strong female relationships. I don't think that I learned how to appreciate strong relationships with other women until I was older, until I could get beyond the conditioning that women's relationships have to be competitive or jealousy-ridden or, you know, back-stabbing. I hope that there will be better examples for the next generation so women can learn to grow up supporting each other instead of tearing each other down.

What are your favorite things about New York, and what are your least favorite things?
Blake Lively: Just shooting in the city, it's such a wonderful place. Getting up so early in the morning, sometimes I think, "What am I doing with a job that wakes me up at 3:40 in the morning?" But getting to shoot on these beautiful cobblestone streets and trees, and it's just a magical place, and it's a character in itself on our show. It's so important, and I don't think our show would work if it wasn't in New York. You know, some of my favorite movies are based here, and I can't describe what I love about the city. It just makes me warm and fuzzy. Silvercup Studios in Long Island City is really great.

America Ferrera: I think that you can't help but be energized by the city and be inspired artistically. I love riding the subway. I love walking the streets. I love sitting at a coffee shop for hours and just watching people go by. And what I think is so amazing about being in New York is that it's very hard to forget that you're a part of a bigger picture when you're here. I grew up in LA my entire life, and while I love LA and it has some wonderful things about it, you can really become isolated, you know, being in your car and kind of only seeing what you intend to see. And I think in New York, things happen that you feel like you wouldn't believe unless they were in a movie. Running into a friend you haven't see in years on the corner of wherever and wherever, and, you know, sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes that's not a good thing, but I just love everything about New York City. And when we're filming, it's great to have people screaming out of their windows, "We love you, Betty!" and that kind of welcoming energy, and then we also get the other side of it too, which is, "Get out of our way! You're stopping traffic!" So, you know, it's New York. You take the good with the bad, and it makes you feel like you have your battle scars.
