As any good look at Blockbuster's bargain bin will tell you, the only people who have a harder time going from the small screen to the big one than Saturday Night Live characters are the Saturday Night Live actors who play them. And yet, they keep on trying, as in the new movie Hot Rod, which stars Adam Samberg, an SNL vet of a whopping two years. So consider the following a cautionary tale, current SNL standout Kristen Wiig: For every Caddyshack, Animal House, or Monsters, Inc. in your future, there could be a Taxi, a pair of Garfields, and a whole lot of Nothing But Trouble waiting patiently for you as well.
