Newly named Weinstein Company got off to a bullish start, collecting a better-than-expected $1.2 billion from Wall Street investors, who hope that Harvey’s freewheeling days are over. New slate remixes Miramax’s greatest hits—highbrow and Dimension genre fare. Scary Movie 4 shrieked out a $40 million opening weekend.
