The Pitch: Seventy-eight-year-old Carl Frederickson (voiced by Ed Asner) has two entries on his bucket list: Save his house from being torn down and fulfill a life-long dream of moving to the mythic Paradise Falls. And to do both he ties thousands of balloons to his house and heads south with an unlikely friend for an adventure.

High Points: Pixar did it again. They took a movie that seemed to be just about a huffy old man and his balloon house, and turned it into animation gold. Like in their most-recent films -- The Incredibles and Wall-E-- each character has their own story, and Pixar never sacrifices their development just for a happy ending.

Low Points: As adorable as this feel-good film was, the 3D touch seemed a little unnecessary.

Final Thoughts: Prepare to cry and cover your mouth in suspense. Oh, and you'll want to take Dug the retriever and his high-tech-talking collar home with you.

Up is one of the best films of the year
on June 7, 2009
Up is Pixar’s best film since 2003’s Finding Nemo. The story of Carl’s(the terrific Ed Asner)adventures with Wilderness Troop explorer, Russell proves that you’re neither to old or to young to bring adventure into your life. It’s also a film that not only appeals to kids but adults as well. http://www.youtube.com/BobsViews1
