When Natasha Richardson passed away on Wednesday after suffering injuries from a ski accident earlier in the week, Hollywood lost a remarkable talent. Married to actor Liam Neeson, Richardson had two sons. We’re remembering her by looking back at some of her most memorable roles.

Gothic (1986)
Playing opposite Gabriel Byrne in this film, Richardson plays author Mary Shelley as she creates her horror classic, Frankenstein. During a rainy night at the mad Lord Byron’s country estate, Richardson’s character enters a sick, dark world where her fiercest nightmares are revealed.

Patty Hearst (1988)
In this true story, Richardson plays a woman named Patty Hearst, who is abducted by American revolutionaries in the 1970’s. After spending time with her captors, Hearst joins their cause, denouncing her parents and their way of life.

The Comfort of Strangers (1990)
This role won her the Best Actress Award at the Evening Standard British Film Awards. Her character, Mary, is in a comfortable marriage that gets shaken up by a complete stranger.

Widows' Peak (1994)
In this comedy/mystery movie, Richardson plays Mrs. Edwina Broome, a newcomer to a town called Widow’s Peak. Her arrival sends the rest of the townswomen on a hunt for dirt on the newcomer.

Cabaret (Performances in 1998)
Sally Bowles is probably her most famous role. Her part in the Broadway production about the nightlife at the Kit Kat Klub, would win her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

The Parent Trap (1998)
Starring opposite Dennis Quaid in this Disney remake, Richardson plays Elizabeth James, the mother of two identical twin girls who were separated at birth. After meeting at summer camp, the two girls devise a plan to get their parents back together.

Asylum (2005)
Richardson stars and produces in this story of a psychiatrist who takes a job on the outskirts of London. Her character, the wife of the psychiatrist, has an affair with one of the inmates, setting into action a series of events that make her choose between her new passion and her family.

A Streetcar Named Desire (Performances in 2005)
In this Broadway musical, Richardson plays the lead role of Blanche DuBois, a Southern Belle who travels to New Orleans to live with her sister. It’s one of the toughest and most emotional roles on Broadway.

The White Countess (2005)
Set in 1930 in Shanghai, Richardson plays a Russian Countess who works at a bar after the Revolution has left her broke. Eventually, a love story develops between her and the bartender, giving her a new outlook on her past.

Evening (2007)
In this film Richardson plays Constance, a loving mother and wife whose own mother reveals a life-changing secret before passing away.

I loved the movie "Widows Peak" co-staring Mia Farrow and Joan Plowright. A mystery comedy.
